While historical and genealogical researchers each have a primary focus (or a hundred) such as a person, event, location, era...whatever. But we do not research in a vacuum. It might be more efficient it we could keep the information we need to review relevant to our subject matter, however, life doesn't work like that. As we wander through endless sources, we regularly run across the proverbial 'squirrel' that leads us off topic. The information may be fascinating, but it has absolutely no place in our project(s). I created this blog as an mechanism to disseminate such juicy little items. If I find it interesting, surely someone else will as well. Right?
If an item is in ( ), my source couldn't read letters/numbers or commented.
If an item is in [ ], it is a comment or correction from me.
Items with no location noted may actually be from other states.
