Allen County-Andrew Bogear

Occasionally, you run across a random snip-it of information. It may not seem like a lot, but it might be huge to a researcher looking to break down a brick wall. The following item was posted in the Indiana Ancestors column in the Indianapolis Star on January 2, 1967. Neither the submitter nor the location are identified. Throwing it out there just in case.

Grave in Allen County near Woodburn

Bogear, Andrew died June 7, 1849.

Shelby County-Bowen/Hoops/Kinney Family Bible Records

I am always on the lookout for Bible records. The potential of finding information there that is not available elsewhere is high. Children who were born and died before or between census enumerations are regularly missed by even the most thorough of researchers. Young ladies born just after 1880 and married just before 1900 are elusive as well. Older ladies who marry a second (or third, or...) time can also be puzzling. Here is a set from the Hoosier Ancestors column in the Indianapolis Star on February 27, 1966, gathered by Pearl Brenton. At the time of submission, the Bible was in the possession of Mrs Henry E Buck of Indianapolis. However, Mrs Buck had no knowledge of the original owner.
